Hi, I'm a widower, looking to 'add another chapter' before I start to feel too old!
I'm a self-employed handyman, and live in my own shabby little bungalow in Ceredigion, where I keep cats and grow vegetables and revel every day in the beauty of the countryside.
I've been consciously pagan since my 20's, and would now describe myself as a 'cunning man' and a Son of the Goddess - any actual pagan practice these days is solitary and informal, but I'd be happy to vary that with the right partner.
I used to read Tarot, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, and was quite good at it. Now I just read people, and love finding the occasional genuine one.
I do not have a television, and have not had since about 1978. I am pleased with myself about this. I do watch films and series on Amazon and on YouTube, and am not necessarily too pleased with myself for that! I'm a sucker for good sci-fi and a good vampire movie. Can't stand costume dramas, tend to be put off anything that gets a lot of hype.
I love music, and anyone who asks me to name my favourite had better have an hour or two to spare for a long chat - I love everything from Otis Redding to Rammstein, from Glinka to Lyapunov, from Handel to Thea Gilmore.
In my youth I was an ardent Anarchist, and have remained generally leftish politically ever since. Like any rational person, I weep for the state of the Earth and of Humanity, and have to make myself remember to see the joy and beauty and worth that still pervades both.
I have a degree in Building Technology (1976!) and once studied to be a proof-reader. I've dabbled in writing (a few short erotic stories published, and three novels unfinished), and once tried to learn to play the cello, with little success. I used to sing in folk clubs, but would not make anyone suffer that again. I taught myself bookbinding, and have made both repairs and new bindings with some success.
