Having spent the vast majority of my life with a persistent desire to experience existence with a soul mate. I think its about time I take a positive step on the path and take an active part in my attempt to help it come to fruition. I currently reside in Sheffield, but plan on leaving in June to move to a as of yet undecided location. I'd very much like to share my interests in a relationship and hopefully collaborate in each other's spiritual/ intellectual and emotional development. In my opinion one of the greatest experiences we can have as people on this planet is a feeling of being on the same frequency as another person and in turn being in a situation where one can be challenged, inspired and perhaps even understood.
Spiritual beliefs
I have been interested in all things esoteric in nature since a young age and unlike a lot of other things, this need to investigate and understand the reality we live in has been a constant and likely never ending pursuit. Over the years I have found certain ideas I once thought established to be utterly reduced to cinder. Most recently I have spent a lot of time correlating the various religions of the world, the Occult, Quabbalah and Science to form a view of the universe which both seems to makes sense to me and work as a unifying unit. While this may sound rather abstract, the effect was quite literally of changing a perspective of utter disillusionment to one of purpose.
Besides these investigations I have a strong connection to Thelema and admiration for Mr. Crowley (or at least his work) as well as the Tarot, Magick in all its various forms and quantum mechanics.
General Interests
I have always for as long as I can remember had a very strong passion for film. Like with my spiritual practises, I try to constantly challenge myself to try things I initially back away from due to some inane pre conceived conclusion. To my benefit this has allowed me to explore films in all ranges of genres and countries and while they certainly haven't all been masterpieces. There have certainly been many gems along the way which have contributed to my overall development.
Books also have played a prominent role in my life, mainly for learning purposes but I also enjoy fiction and in particular Philip K Dick. I also have aspirations for one day making my own foray into this medium as there seems to be a connectivity reached through the art of writing which few other avenues possess. On the entertainment side gaming has also been a main stay in my world. Ever since picking up the original Nes and eventually CRPGs on the PC, I continue to be fascinated by the worlds that are created that inevitably leave their mark on one's memory.
Finally I am greatly interested in psychology as I think it goes hand in hand with spirituality. Carl Jung is a particular is a inspiration in giving meaning to dreams, instead of wafting them away as nonsensical musings of the mind.
In Closing
The old phrase of never loose your sense of humour I find to be particularly important while experiencing life's farris wheel. The instances of true unmitigated laughter have the power to reduce all problems to a singular after thought and I hope to get my share as often as I can.
